Good hotel for short stay

Good location. Short distance to the train station. Rooms very comfortable with great views. Breakfast was very good with good selection.

Staff could have been a little friendlier. Maybe a language thing. Wrongly charged for using minibar. Swimming pool could have been maintained a little better.

Good

Hôtel from the 90s located at the center of Phitsanulok which is great to explore the city. The pool is pretty large while the breakfast was OK. The room was big and comfy.

The bathroom wasn't clean and needs to be renovated. Their was more pigeons than humans in the pool.

Big and nice hotel, with direct access to an small shopping mall.

This hotel was a nice. We had 5 nights there. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was nice too. There was an small shopping mall that you could enter directly from the hotel's lobby. Restaurant near the hotels lobby was nice as well.

The cleaning around the pool could have been better.

Conveniently located with easy access to the train station and the river. Nice rooms and very good breakfast. They allowed us to check in early which was very nice.

Old hotel, but perfect location and sufficient facilities.

The hotel has nice spa and is attached to shopping center with restaurant and cafe. The hotel has perfect location and best facilities compared to other hotels in the city.

The hotel is really old and need some upgrade. The pool is not clean and inviting.

Overall I had a very good stay for the week I was there.

I liked the friendly staff and that it was convenient to the wat and shopping attached to the hotel and another with the stalls enclosed in one large building. Very convenient. I also liked the very large pool and the music in the evening in the lounge. The band and singer were very very good! She has a beautiful voice. The drinks were reasonable

I could not find anyone to help me to find transportation or information about surrounding places that I could go to. So if I did not have friends taking me I could not find a way to get to other places of interest. Also the internet could use some improvement. I kept losing the connection, especially the last two days I was there. But a gentleman finally came to my room and fixed it for me.

watch out for scammers in phitsanaluk!!

overall ambience

i do not like being expected to pay departure tax of 20b for water supposedly used from mini bar. i refused to pay laughing girls at checkout desk. 20b is less than $1 aus but it is the principle of the matter. too many foreigners in tour buses staying overnight at topland methinks. there is an overiding attitude in phitsanaluk that foreigners are just mobile ATM,s.

Good for stopover on way to Sukhothai.

Stayed twice here (either side of visiting Sukhothai) in superior and deluxe rooms -the latter has a walk in shower but less coat hangers! Price diff is minimal. Good convenient location large clean comfortable rooms. Swimming pool is a decent size. Large Topland dept store next door good priced Thai food restaurant on the top floor.

Breakfast was at best average and poor if you are a (european) vegetarian. NB with the exception of Mr Shivanna's omelettes which were the best we had in our month in Thailand!

Ask if any noisy renovation is going on before you accept your room.

I generally liked everything except for two things that I point out elsewhere in this review.

I had only two dislikes, but they were major: One was that the wifi was often weak and slow (although I asked for a room with good wifi) The other was daytime noise from a neighboring room (although I asked for a quiet room). The source of the noise was renovation going on in an adjacent room from around 8 AM to 5 PM. At certain times the noise involving hammering that was so loud that it was unbearable. When the staff assigned me to the room, they never mentioned to me that a neighboring room was undergoing renovation. An hour after I checked in, I came downstairs and pointed it out to them, and saw by their behavior that they were already aware of it. But they did not offer to give me a new room. They just sheepishly grinned at me, like irresponsible children. In retrospect, I should have demanded another room on the spot, but I was just too tired and too busy to do that.

The doorman was the only positive thing in this hotel.

Mold. Untideness. The receptionist tried to force us to pay a bill from the bar made by someone else.. different nationality etc. She tried this several times. Hopefully she sees more foreigners... We are not all same same Farang. Had the suite. Worst ever!

Horrible Wi-fi

Location (close to Wat Yai)

Food quality at Cafe Royal is poor. Western food doesn’t taste like western food. At buffet the hot food isn’t kept hot. But the worst in the hotel is their wi-fi. Not only is it super slow, it also requires you to log back in over and over and over....every time you don’t use it for a few minutes. If there were a better hotel in Phitsanulok, Topland probably wouldn’t have any more business.

Easy access from main road Department store & hotel is in same building as 2 in 1. Very close to big temple Very nice view from high floor room Staff served very professional quickly take care us since arrived to hotel lobby as catch baggies, check inn also quick & accurate which might be trained well as I think. Dinner buffet was 175 Baht for stayer as reasonable price as provided. Room facilities also nothing broken

The staff, very rude and very unprofessional.

The staff, very rude and very unprofessional. They really let the hotel down. Especially the manager a totally unprofessional idiot. For a 4 star hotel the staff were not trained at all but when we looked at the manager who you would imagine should be trained but was not. If i was to go back to phitsanulok it would not be to the top land hotel. Sorry but i had a much better time after leaving the hotel.
